Managed servers

Your server, run by our engineers

Add a management plan to a cloud server or a bare metal machine, and our team takes on the work of running it: updates, security, monitoring and more, depending on the plan. Plans are billed once a year.

How it works

Empty machine or managed server: you choose

Every server we sell starts as an empty machine: the hardware, the network and the operating system you picked. Without a plan, everything on it is yours to set up, secure, update, monitor and back up. With a plan, our team takes on the work listed for that plan, and you ask us for anything else you need on the server.

  1. Step 1

    Choose a plan.

Pick one when you order a server, or add one later to an active server from its page.

  2. Step 2

    We take the server on.

Our team checks the operating system and hardens it. On Enterprise and Ultimate we also replace the access details, so only our team holds them.

  3. Step 3

    Your year starts.

The plan's 12 months start on the day management begins, not on the day you paid.

  4. Step 4

    You ask, we act.

Open a support ticket for any change. On Enterprise and Ultimate, every change to the server is made by our team.

1 Strict conditions: the server is run only by our team, and every program on it is built, audited and deployed by an approved vendor. See "Data Protection Compensation Cover" below.

Prices can change at any time — we work to keep them among the most affordable. A service you've already bought keeps the price you ordered it at.

A plan is for one server. Its price stays as ordered for as long as the plan renews.

HA clusters need more than one server; each extra server is ordered and billed on its own.

Zero credentials on Enterprise and Ultimate

On a fully managed server, our team holds the access details and you don't. No root password, no SSH key, no control-panel login to leak, phish or reuse. Only YallowHost configures, manages and accesses the server. You ask for what you need through a support ticket, and an engineer does it. The server's IP address stays on your server page, so you can point your domains at it.

On Essential and Advanced you keep root access. If you change something that our work depends on, we may ask you to undo it, and repairing what your own changes broke is outside the plan.

Enterprise and Ultimate

Data Protection Compensation Cover

On Enterprise and Ultimate, if a failure on our side loses your data and we cannot restore it, we pay the documented cost of recovering it: up to $50,000 on Enterprise and up to $100,000 on Ultimate, per customer per incident, under strict conditions. The cover exists for servers where only trusted hands have touched the code: our team runs the server, and approved vendors build, audit and deploy everything on it.

Paid by YallowHost.

The cover is our own commitment, paid from our own funds. No third party is involved.

Only trusted hands.

YallowHost configures, manages and accesses the server; you ask for changes by support ticket. Every program, script and project on the server is programmed, audited and deployed by an approved vendor.

What it covers.

Data loss caused at infrastructure or operating-system level: a failure of the hardware, network or storage we provide, or of the work we do under the plan, when the data cannot be restored from our backups.

What voids it.

Your own code, third-party software or scripts, a vulnerable script, or any unauthorised change or injection on the server: the cover is void straight away.

Strict conditions, stated up front

  • The server has had an active Enterprise or Ultimate plan for at least 90 days in a row when the incident happens.
  • For that whole time, only YallowHost configured, managed and accessed the server, and every change you wanted went through a support ticket.
  • Every program, script and project on the server was programmed, audited and deployed by an approved vendor. Only YallowHost and approved vendors are trusted to put anything on the server.
  • If you upload your own code, use third-party software or scripts, install a vulnerable script, or attempt any unauthorised change or injection, the cover is void at once.
  • Your account has no unpaid invoices when the incident happens.
  • You open a claim by support ticket within 72 hours of the incident being discovered.
  • We pay the documented cost of recovering the lost data, up to the plan's limit. Lost profits and other indirect losses are not covered. One limit per customer per incident, however many servers it touches.
  • A claim caused by client-side actions or third-party code is refused. A false claim is fraud: we refuse it, end the plan and may take legal action.

A server with no management plan. We run the hardware and the network and install the operating system you chose. Everything after that (software, security, updates, monitoring, backups) is yours.

Yes, to any active cloud or bare metal server. Open the server's page in your account and choose Server management. The plan gets its own invoice for the year.

On Enterprise and Ultimate our team holds the server's access details and you don't see them. Every change goes through a support ticket. If the plan ends, we give you new access details.

On Essential and Advanced, yes: you keep root access. On Enterprise and Ultimate, no.

Yes, when the plan renews. Tell us by support ticket before the renewal invoice is issued, and the new plan starts with the new year.

The plan ends with the server. After the first 15 days, the unused part of the year is not refunded or credited (see our Refund Policy).

YallowHost, from its own funds. No third party is involved.

Only Enterprise and Ultimate servers that have been run solely by our team for at least 90 days, where everything on the server was programmed, audited and deployed by an approved vendor. Your own code or any third-party software or script voids the cover.

We recommend it. Our backups protect the server; your own copy protects you from anything outside it.

No. Enterprise and Ultimate include 24/7 incident response: an engineer is alerted and starts work at any hour. We don't promise a response time, a fix time or an availability figure, on any plan.

On Ultimate, our senior engineers work on your managed server's issues without an hour count. Fair use applies: it covers the server and its operating system, not building or rewriting your applications.

Pick your server, then your plan

Build a cloud server to your own size or choose a whole bare metal machine, then pick the plan that fits.
